Attorney Biography
Scottuses forensic science knowledge, cutting-edge courtroom communication techniques, zealous advocacy, and comprehensive investigative practices to aggressively defend drivers accused of misdemeanor and felony charges involving drug offenses, DUI, DUID, other alcohol or drug related driving crimes, domestic violence charges, forfeitures, and other offenses in Washington state and federal courts. Scott practices his craft state-wide with offices and legal relationships throughout Washington State. Although Scott’s primary practice area is state and federal courts in King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kittitas Counties, Scott regularly rides "circuit" throughout the state.
Scott defends people from all walks of life – students, professionals, CDL holders, airline pilots, ship captains, medical professionals, and others with licenses from regulated professions. These people have special challenges and additional reporting requirements that dramatically affect their work and families when are charged with a crime. Scott is particularly adept at navigating the regulatory framework these clients face. Scott is one of only 4 Washington attorneys to attend and complete the American Chemical Society Forensic Chromatography Course for hands-on Headspace Gas Chromatography or HSGC training, one of only 4 Washington attorneys who own breath test machines used in Washington, a factory trained breath test machine operator, and a NHTSA trained Student and Instructor in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Scott has completed the Advance Roadside Impaired Driving Evaluation ("ARIDE") and the Drug Evaluation and Classification Overview Course (pre-DRE school).
Scott received his law degree (and an MBA) from the University of Washington, where he received American Jurisprudence awards for the top scores in Contracts and Constitutional Law, won the Judson Falknor Upper Class Moot Court Competition, and received an International Order of Barrister award for his advocacy skills, has a B.A. cum laudefrom Claremont Men's College in honors political science and economics, and grew up in Yakima, WA, where he was salutatorian at Eisenhower High School and an Eagle Scout.
