Attorney Biography
Attorney Emma Guthrie continuously delivers her clients optimal outcomes in their cases by thinking outside the box when framing issues for pretrial motions, delivering oral arguments, and negotiating resolutions. The time and attention that she dedicates to each of her clients - truly listening to understand each of their situations, needs, and goals - directly reflects her devotion to providing fierce advocacy for those she represents.
Attorney Guthrie attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she graduated after just three years with majors in English and Philosophy, and a minor in Legal Studies. As a student, she served as a tutor for UWL’s English and Philosophy Departments and completed an internship with the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office in La Crosse. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School, where she focused her studies predominantly on criminal law and trial practice. During her second year of law school, she began clerking for a local criminal defense firm that immediately hired her on as an attorney following her graduation in 2021. Prior to joining Kaehne & Barrette in November of 2023, Attorney Guthrie had been practicing criminal defense in the Milwaukee area.
